Laura Emerick, M.A.

Biography

Laura joined MTC in March 2018. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Student Success and Engagement. In this role, Laura oversees academic advising, new student orientation, first-year experience, testing services, tutoring, and student life, and she is involved in state and college-wide initiatives related to student success and retention. She has worked in higher education since 2005. Her previous experience includes academic advising, career services, first-year experience, and admissions at public universities, and she has also taught career planning and first-year experience courses. Laura earned a Master of Arts in Student Development in Postsecondary Education from the University of Iowa, a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from St. Cloud State University. She is currently working on her Doctor of Education degree in Educational Practice and Leadership – Higher Education at the University of North Dakota.
