College Credit Plus

College Credit Plus

CCP is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that allows college-ready students in grades 7-12 to earn transferrable college credit. When you enroll as a Marion Tech student in the College Credit Plus (CCP) program you’ll take courses at Marion Technical College (MTC) and earn both college and high school credits at the same time. Many of these courses are held on site at our partner schools as well as at the MTC campus and online.

The best part about CCP is that the program is 100% free for almost all students! Thousands of students at 22 area schools can choose to take Marion Tech’s CCP classes with zero or minimal costs for them and their and families, saving time and money while earning transferrable college credit.

CCP provides a wide variety of options and enhances students’ career readiness and postsecondary success. For many students, enrolling at Marion Tech through CCP is the first step towards pursuing a college degree that leads to a career. Each year several CCP students will even complete and earn a two-year degree from Marion Tech prior to their high school graduation!

Partner Schools

Marion Tech currently offers CCP courses at the following schools: Buckeye Community School, Bucyrus, Cardington-Lincoln, Delaware Hayes, Elgin, Fairbanks, Highland, Marion Harding, Mohawk, Mt. Gilead, Northmor, North Union, Pickerington Central, Pickerington North, Pleasant, Ridgedale, Riverdale, River Valley, Tri-Rivers, Upper Sandusky, Wynford.

CCP courses are also available for Homeschool and Non-public high school students.

Planning ahead with CCP

Students who plan a career pathway that includes Marion Tech and CCP can maximize the value of their college education by saving thousands of dollars in costs, and shortening the time spent to earn a degree. A typical college-to-career plan that includes CCP is represented by the following pathway:

1. Enroll at Marion Tech as a CCP student > 2. Complete a degree at Marion Tech > 3. Transfer to a four-year college or university > 4. Start a career

Cost savings per credit hours taken

Marion Tech’s in-state tuition cost is $210 per credit hour. You can multiply this figure by the number of credit hours a student plans to take through CCP to calculate potential tuition savings.

The following table demonstrates the value of choosing a college-to-career plan that includes CCP at Marion Tech in terms of tuition dollars saved.

Credit Hours Taken Tuition Savings with Marion Tech CCP
12 $2,520
18 $3,780
24 $5,040
30 $6,300
36 $7,560
48 $10,080
60 $12,600
