415 Graduate from Marion Tech
Marion Technical College was proud to celebrate 415 graduates in a moving ceremony at the Marion Palace Theatre this May. Together, they earned more than 500 degrees and certificates. These included the first two graduates of the new bachelor of science in nursing program.
Graduates ranged in age from 16 to 72. They included five veterans and 22 high school students who earned associate degrees at no cost to them or their families through the College Credit Plus Program. These graduates came from 27 Ohio counties.
“Congratulations to each one of our graduates. This is a cumulation of years of hard work,” said Dr. Ryan McCall, president of Marion Tech.
Dr. McCall also congratulated the families who sacrificed and supported these alumni. He challenged graduates to continue with life-long learning. Maron Tech offers more than 25 transfer programs and many classes guaranteed to transfer to any public state institution. About 60% of Marion Tech students continue their education after graduation
Graduates received degrees in the arts and sciences, business, engineering, health care, information technology, and public service.
Marion Tech serves a number of students who are the first generation of their families to graduate from college. At the ceremony, graduates were loudly cheered and celebrated by partners, parents, grandparents, children, and friends. Faculty, staff, and members of the college’s Board of Trustees also offered congratulations as the graduates walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.
“It is exciting to see these students grow and learn. Now they will go into our community and make a difference,” Dr. McCall said. “Whether they are entering a new field or advancing their careers, their future looks bright.”
